Min: Russia to focus on structural constraints once economy grows

MOSCOW, Mar 17 (PRIME) -- The Russian government should focus on overcoming structural constraints when the country’s economic growth resumes, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said at a meeting of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography on Friday.

“Certainly, actions aimed at improving the investment climate are of priority to us. From the economic point of view, in a situation when economic growth resumes, we should concentrate on overcoming structural constraints,” Oreshkin said.

“We are working on increasing the rate of Russian economic growth, that’s why it is necessary to reveal all key restrictions, to find out what is impeding investments, what problems exist for the population, for business, for companies, and therefore for the economic development.

“We need such an economic growth that each person in Russia feels that his life is becoming better. We are responsible for this.”

He said that the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography should help Russians to get a free hectare of land in the country’s Far East without problems.

The service must also focus on ungrounded refusals and suspension of registrations.

“There have been very many complaints historically. This year we are aiming at halving them,” Oreshkin said.
